Cold Coffee 101 - How To Brew It Best:
This method works on the assumption that you have access to both a coffee grinder and a French Press, a tried and tested technique.
If you don’t, though, there are plenty of guides out there for other techniques you could try!
Step One - Grinding
You’re going to want a coarse grind, appropriate for use with your French Press, so bust out that grinder you just bought and get to work! Be careful not to overgrind - go slow and steady, because you can always grind more, but you can’t hit undo!
Use as much or as little as you’d like, but for the sake of this recipe, you’re going to want approximately one cup of grinds, weighing approximately 90 grams. Time to dust off the old kitchen scale!
Step Two - H2O… Just Add Water
According to the experts, your ideal ratio for coffee and water is 1:5 or 1:4, depending on your preference strength wise. Transfer your grounds to your press, then very slowly pour in approximately 3 and ¾ cups of filtered water.
You’re going to want to do this gently and in a circular motion, because the number one rule of cold brew is do not stir! Instead, grab a metal teaspoon and carefully use the back to gently push any surface grounds that may be floating on the surface.
Step Three - The Waiting Game
